Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge, UK is inviting applicants to apply for a postdoctoral position in biochemistry. This position is available for 12 months in the first instance. Applications should be sent before October 16, 2019.

Applications are invited for a temporary part-time Research Associate working in the Laboratory of Prof. Ernest Laue in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Cambridge.

The successful candidate will be working in the Laue Lab which is interested in the way chromatin structure controls epigenetic inheritance, and studing proteins and complexes involved in chromatin assembly/disassembly. Their current research is focussed on studies of the Nucleosome Remodelling Deacetylase complex (NuRD), as part of an MRC-funded research project, focused on understanding how the NuRD complex assembles and functions in mouse ES cells (mESC).

The ideal candidate will be an experienced biochemist with expertise in the expression/purification of protein complexes. The project will involve the purification of NuRD complexes from insect cells expressed using the MultiBac system. The project would also suit a structural biologist who has good expertise in protein biochemistry.

Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant area of science.
