Research Assistant in Computer Vision at University of Cambridge

A new postdoc position in computer science is available at University of Cambridge. The initial contract for this position is 6 months and posible to extend. This position is closed on September 06, 2019.

A position exists, for a Research Assistant in the Department of Engineering, to work on developing novel techniques in semantic localisation for autonomous driving. The successful candidate would be expected to start on or around 1 October 2019. The post holder will be located in Central Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.

The key responsibilities and duties are: * to undertake basic research for example by preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and field work, using mathematical modelling or scientific computation; * to conduct literature and database searches; to contribute to the production of research reports and publications; to present information on research progress and outcomes to bodies supervising research, e.g. steering groups, sponsors or members of research groups.

The role holder will also be expected to attend meetings with the industrial sponsor to facilitate integration of research output.

The skills, qualifications and experience required to perform the role are: * a good undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science and postgraduate experience eg.: PhD level work, * experience of research in computer vision, * good oral and written communication skills including: scientific writing skills and scientific presentation skills, * industrial or project experience, whether employment or internship, in computer vision, machine learning or related topics, * experience of presenting at conferences/workshops.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 6 months in the first instance.
