Postdoc Position in Numerical Nanophotonics at Imperial College London

Imperial College London, UK is offering postdoctoral researcher position in photonics. This position is available for 12 months in the first instance. Applications are welcome before September 12, 2019.

Applications are invited for a Research Associate to join our research team in the Experimental Solid State Group in the Department of Physics.

This fixed term post is associated with our general efforts in nanophotonics, particularly the coupling of nanostructured materials with 2D systems. The postholder will have a substantial, proven expertise in numerical nanophotonics, and the modelling of 2D materials. The post holder will examine a number of hybridized nanophotonic systems, with a focus on metasurfaces.

The post holder will contribute to independent and original research within the Experimental Solid-State Physics Group, submit publications to refereed journals and assist with the administration of the Research Group. You will be self-motivated and be able to work alongside and aid graduate students. Interdisciplinary research and collaboration with theoreticians in other groups of the Department of Physics is an important aspect of this project.

You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Physical Sciences or a closely related discipline.

*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range 34,397 – 37,486 per annum.
