PhD Scholarship in Magnetic Resonance Flow Tensor Imaging

The Biomedical Imaging group of the Institute for Biomedical Engineering at the University and ETH Zurich develops Magnetic Resonance technology and methods to assess the cardiovascular system in health and disease. As part of our efforts to quantify blood flow in-vivo we are seeking to fill following position new position.The research project aims at advancing Magnetic Resonance (MR) flow imaging methodology to map coherent and incoherent blood flow in the the heart and great vessels to aid diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The project involves MR simulations, pulse sequence design, advanced data reconstruction and processing including machine learning to derive average and stochastic properties of blood flow.

The candidate holds a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or physics with first class grades. He/she should present with a keen interest in biomedical imaging physics, signal and data processing, experimental and clinical applications of cutting-edge imaging technology. Very good programming skills (Matlab/Python, C, TensorFlow) and interest in both theoretical and practical work are a premise. An innovative spirit and team player skills round off the profile.
