TheTurner Institute for Brain and Mental Health(housed within the School of Psychological Sciences) provides an exceptional research environment for discoveries that change our understanding of the brain.

Reporting to the Director of the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health, these three exciting new positions will generate relevant research where impact can be demonstrated in the areas of: Breakthrough Science, Industry Engagement, and Community Engagement.

You will also have access to career and proposal development to craft competitive funding applications, with a view to securing an externally funded fellowship such as an Australian Research Council Fellowship or an National Health and Medical Research Council Investigator Grant or international award.

This position emphasises the path from basic discovery science all the way through to clinical application. We recognise that breakthrough science can occur at any point in this journey. We seek applications from high calibre early-to-mid- career scientists with outstanding potential to impact their discipline area and the broader arenas of clinical practice and communityengagementvia their discoveries. Alignment to one or more of our Research Programs is highly desirable. Applicants with a proven track record of demonstrating both research impact and independence early in their careers will be viewed favourably.

To be successful in this position you will have completed a doctoral qualification in psychology, neuroscience or a cognate discipline and have statistical analysis, manuscript and research proposal preparation skills, including a solid track record of refereed research publications.

This position seeks to advance industry research partnerships to ensure that the transition from basic discovery to impact is seamless and sustainable. This position will demonstrate significant impact in engagement across diverse sectors of the community (e.g. patients, families, the clinical community, public, industry or policy makers) and/or experience with participatory research methods (e.g. citizen juries, deliberative democracies) and co-design.

You will work closely with community and other relevant stakeholders to establish innovative and sustainable partnerships and develop a world-class research program that translates advances in neuroscience research into effective and responsible treatments, policies and practice that meets the needs of the community.

You will also have experience in manuscript and research proposal preparation skills, including a solid track record of refereed research publications.

This is a highly interdisciplinary position. To be successful in this position you will have completed a doctoral qualification in either psychology or neuroscience, social science, science communication, ethics, or related discipline
