Postdoctoral Scientist in Cell Biology at University of Cambridge

Applicants are invited to apply for a postdoc position in biochemistry at University of Cambridge. Potential candidates should apply before August 04, 2019.

We are recruiting an ambitious scientist with cell biology expertise to work in a research programme aiming to identify new targets that modulate autophagy relevant to neurodegeneration. The studies will mainly involve cell biology and biochemical approaches in cell lines and primary neurons and the successful applicant will work in the lab of Professor David Rubinsztein in collaboration with the recently established London Discovery team/centre at global biopharmaceutical company MSD.

Applicant must have submitted PhD thesis or have had a PhD awarded.

The Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) forms part of the University of Cambridge Clinical School and is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The Institute provides modern laboratory accommodation and state of the art research facilities http://www.cimr.cam.ac.uk .

As part of the University of Cambridge Clinical School, each Principal Investigator is affiliated to a home department which includes Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Medicine, Medical Genetics, Clinical Neurosciences and Pathology.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 9 June 2022 in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
