Clinical Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge has an opening postdoctoral scholar position in public health. Potential candidates should apply before September 01, 2019.

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Associate in Ovarian Precision Cancer Medicine in the Department of Oncology (www.oncology.cam.ac.uk).

The successful applicant will be part of the Cancer research UK Cambridge Centre Ovarian Programme (programme leads: Dr James Brenton and Professor Paul Pharoah).

This post represents an excellent opportunity for an individual wishing to gain further experience in therapeutic trials in Ovarian cancer, with a focus on biomarker-driven designs.

The Ovarian programme has close collaborative links between the Department of Oncology, Radiology, Public Health and Primary Care and the CR-UK Cambridge Institute and has a strong track record of discovery in cancer genomics, circulating tumour DNA, germline genetics and functional imaging.

The post is ideally suited to a clinician who has completed their specialist training in medical oncology, and has already been involved and/or has aspirations in the development and delivery of clinical or translational research, in collaboration with clinical academics and/or industry collaborators.

A medical qualification and General Medical Council registration or ability to obtain registration before job commencement is required. In addition, the successful applicant will need to be able to hold an Honorary Clinical Contract with the Trust.

This post holder will be responsible for the delivery of care to patients with gynaecological malignancies including the recruitment and clinical management of trial participants as well associated clinical research activities including trial preparation and manuscript writing. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is expected and other trial specific training will be provided.

The post will be based in the Department of Oncology, under the direction of Dr James Brenton (Senior Group Leader) and the postholder will hold an honorary clinical contract at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Trust.
