Carbon Sequestration Project PhD Studentship at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge has an opening PhD position in earth sciences. Successful candidate will have funding to work and study for 5 years in UK. Applicants should apply before November 30, 2019.

There is a new fully funded iCASE PhD award to study the fluid dynamics of Carbon Sequestration with Prof Woods in the Dept of Earth Sciences and BPI from October 2019 for 3.5 years.

Candidates should have a good degree in mathematics, physics, chemical engineering or engineering (1st or 2.1). The project will explore the effectiveness of CO2 injection into heterogeneous reservoirs to gain insight into the possible fraction of the pore space flooded by the CO2 and also to explore the fraction of CO2 which may be extracted from a system following injection.
