Research Position in Electrical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University

Established in 1981, the SCHOOL OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (EEE) is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University. Built on a culture of excellence, the School is renowned for its high academic standards and research. With more than 150 faculty members and an enrolment of more than 4,000, of which about 1,000 are graduate students, it is one of the largest EEE schools in the world and ranks 6th in the field of Electrical & Electronic Engineering in the 2017 QS World University Rankings by Subjects.

We are seeking for a Project officer to work on a MOE funded project to conduct the research and fabrication of rare-earth-doped sesquioxide transparent ceramics, and other project related works, such as consumable materials purchase and research equipment maintenance etc. The candidate will need to use the chemical coprecipitation method to synthesize nano-sized ceramic powders, and use the high temperature vacuum sintering technique to fabricate high optical quality functional ceramics, as well as the property characterization of the fabricated ceramics.

The candidate is required to have a Bachelor degree in Physics or Materials Science, preferably also have working experience on the nano-materials processing and characterization, transparent ceramics development.
