ACTION Lab is an exciting new initiative undertaking socially relevant research. Our team of engineers, researchers, designers and practitioners work together to engage with real-world challenges in partnership with organisations on the ground. We are looking to grow our already diverse team over the next 6 months to support key projects with Red Cross Australia, World Fish and IFRC among others.

The role presents the opportunity to work with world-renowned pioneer Professor Patrick Olivier, who coined the term ‘Digital Civics’ and is a leader in this emerging field: a cross-disciplinary area of research that explores ways technology can promote new forms of participation in the design and delivery of local services including education, public health and social care and town planning. In this role, you will explore theory, frameworks and tools for analysis to support data understanding and decision making.

As the successful candidate you will have a doctoral qualification in Computer Science or Interaction Design or progress towards a doctoral qualification, and you will be motivated by the opportunity to use technology to do good in the broader community.
