Post-doctaral Position in Computer Science at Lund University

A new opening postdoc position in robotics is available at Lund University, Sweden. The funds for this fellowship are available for 2 years. Citizens of any country are eligible to apply before the deadline: June 27, 2019.

LTH forms the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, with approximately 9 000 students. The research carried out at LTH is of a high international standard and we are continuously developing our teaching methods and adapting our courses to current needs.

Work duties

Construction robotics is a topic that is gaining increased research attention in both academia and industry, and so also at Lund University where this is expanding in terms of new and upcoming projects. On the activities started so far, it is investigated how the use of flexible automation solutions as well as digital information management in building applications, considering the entire chain from planning and logistics to the actual on-site building processes. The work involves cooperation with related projects in Germany, and potentially with other countries. During the project period (2 years) work is to be done within the domains of development and implementation of parallel-kinematic robotics and mechatronics concepts, all above mentioned in connection to building construction.

The main duties involved in a post-doctoral position is to conduct research. Teaching may also be included, but up to no more than 20% of working hours. The position includes the opportunity for three weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning.

Qualification requirements

Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position, completed no more than three years before the last date for applications. Under special circumstances, the doctoral degree can have been completed earlier.

Assessment criteria and other qualifications

This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers. Particular emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Vital is to be a good team player. Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant's experience and skills complement and strengthen the administrative work within the unit/department, as well as contribute to its future development.

This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of a maximum of 2 years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement "Avtal om tidsbegrnsad anstllning som postdoktor" ("Agreement on fixed-term employment as a post-doctoral fellow") between Lund University, SACO-S, OFR/S and SEKO, dated 4 September 2008.

Start date upon agreement, at the latest 191001.
