Research Assistants/associates in Mobile Health and Audio Modelling

University of Cambridge, UK is inviting applicants to apply for a postdoctoral associate position in signal processing. The funding allows successful candidates to work for 5 years in the first instance. Applications should be sent before June 24, 2019.

We are seeking Research Assistants/Associates in the general area of mobile health, mobile systems, machine learning or acoustics and signal processing to join the team of a 2.5M Euro European Research Council funded project entitled “EAR: Audio-based Mobile Health Diagnostics”.

The project aims to design and work with wearable hardware, devise new on-device machine learning paradigms for robust in-the-wild audio analytics targeting clinical applications. We are seeking candidates with background in mobile health and mobile systems as well as ones with knowledge of acoustics, signal processing and machine learning. The positions are available for 5 years.

Requirements: Candidates should have been awarded a PhD (or be very close to submitting) and a strong publication record in mobile health, mobile systems, machine learning or acoustics and signal processing. The ideal candidates should also have good programming skills. Good communication, presentation and management skills are also desirable given the size of the project team.

Applicants will have obtained or be close to obtaining a PhD. Appointment at Research Associate is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the PhD has been awarded
