2 PhD Scholarship at Technical University of Munich

We are seeking two highly creative and motivated doctoral students to join the Neuromuscular Diagnostics Team at the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences as part of the Geriatronics Project at the Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence. Our research examines the computational principles of sensorimotor control. Specifically, how the sensorimotor system learns to control the complex dynamics of the body when interacting with the world. We use custom-built robotic interfaces, virtual reality and computational modelling to examine the control system. See our webpage at: www.nd.sg.tum.de The two PhD positions will be based at the new Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MSRM) focusing on modelling and visualization of the musculoskeletal system as part of the Geriatronics project.

Tasks: Carry out research projects and publish in neuromuscular and sensorimotor control. The research and development topics will involve developing models of the musculoskeletal system. Requirements: Masters degree in an area relevant to this research (e.g. Physiology, Biomechanics, Engineering). Programming skills, computational skills, robotics and/or other relevant experimental skills are required. Highly motivated, meticulous individual with a passion for research. We offer A salary (100% TV-L E13, actual pay depends on experience).
