Research Assistant at University of Cambridge

A new opening postdoctoral fellowship position in psychology is available at University of Cambridge, UK. The funds for this fellowship are available for 18 months. This position is closed on February 27, 2019.

The Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge wishes to appoint a full-time Research Assistant to work within PEDAL (the Faculty of Education’s research centre for play in education, development and learning) providing research support for a series of projects to investigate play between parents and children in the early years.

The research assistant will work with the project team to collect child and parent data as well as data from the school context, and support the entry, coding and analysis of data. The research assistant will also work on one or more systematic literature reviews within the same field.

Applicants will have an undergraduate degree in Psychology or equivalent experience, with a specific interest in play research. They will also have experience in data collection with children and families and experience in managing quantitative data. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, alongside the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience and understanding of mixed methods research would be advantageous.

The post will be managed by Professor Paul Ramchandani (Director, PEDAL Research Centre) and Dr Christine O’Farrelly (Research Associate).
