Postdoc Position at Imperial College London

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position in public health to join Imperial College London, UK. Eligible candidates should submit the applications before March 04, 2019.

We are looking for an ambitious researcher with experience in analysis of large routine, cohort and survey data sets for health-related research and training in applied epidemiology to join a dynamic research group focused on improving child health at Imperial College London, one of the UK's leading universities.

The successful post holder will work on 'Harnessing data for Children and Young People's theme'. This is a priority area for research led by Professor Sonia Saxena, Head of Child Health at Imperial School of Public Health. You will be expected to use large complex health and social care datasets such as the Clinical Practice Research Datalink, Hospital Episode Statistics, the Millennium Cohort Study and Understanding Society Household Panel Survey for epidemiological cohort analysis and to evaluate the impact of natural policy experiments on child health. The work stream is part of a wider work programme of applied public health research for Children and Young People, funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR).

You will have a PhD or equivalent in epidemiology, demography, population health, global health, biostatistics, or a related subject and Substantial experience with population health, especially health inequalities child public health, NCDs/chronic diseases and their risk factors.

The post holder will be situated in the Child Health Unit, (Director, Professor Sonia Saxena). Our mission is to produce high-quality translational research that will improve health and wellbeing of children and reduce health inequalities. We have a wide-ranging programme of research. The Unit is in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health (PCPH) (Head, Professor Azeem Majeed) within Imperial School of Public Health. We are highly interdisciplinary and the post holder will also work closely with epidemiologists, statisticians, and clinicians, at Imperial School of Public Health, and at other leading global universities
