Sasakawa Japanese Studies Postgraduate Studentship Programme

Applicants are invited to apply for a PhD scholarship at Cardiff University. Applications should be sent before February 22, 2019.

The School of Modern Languages is pleased to invite applications for the Sasakawa Postgraduate Studentship in Japanese studies, made possible through the generosity of The Nippon Foundation and the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

The expertise of our staff is particularly suited to students wishing to pursue topics of contemporary culture, disasters, modern history, transportation, and translation.

PhD research related to Japan, and which fits with one of the research themes of the School of Modern Languages, is eligible for consideration. Applications for students wishing to do the MA in Translation Studies with a focus on Japanese will also be considered.

The School can nominate candidates for a PhD (or for an MA in Translation Studies with a focus on Japanese) for a studentship of 10,000.

Deadline: February 22, 2019
