Postdoc Position at University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge is pleased to invite applicants to apply for a postdoctoral scholar position in spectroscopy. The initial contract for this position is 3 years and posible to extend. This position is closed on January 24, 2019.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.

Applications are invited for a three year industrially funded postdoctoral position on a project investigating fundamental characteristics of lubrication at oil/metal surfaces, with the aim of understanding lubrication on the molecular scale. The project will be carried out in the Surface Science research group led by Professor Paul Davies and Dr Mike Casford in the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge. The group’s expertise includes Sum Frequency Generation spectroscopy, related techniques in surface and interface spectroscopy, scanning probe microscopy and laboratory tribology.

We are seeking an experimentalist with a PhD in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science with experience in surface vibrational spectroscopy, specifically practical experience using Sum Frequency Generation spectroscopy and how it can be interfaced with tribological measurements.

Interviews will be held on February 1st 2019.
